Product Description Japanese pressing of Utada's 2008 full-length album. Includes total of 13 tracks with song like, 'Boku ha Kuma', 'Flavor Of Life', 'Beautiful World' and 'Heart Station'. EMI. This album was the one that drew me to Hikki's Japanese music, and my love of her music has expanded to the point I now own all her albums, both Japanese and American. That includes the oft overlooked "Precious" album, which she performed under her first stage name, Cubic U. My point is that if I hadn't heard the tracks on this album, I might never have had the chance to explore her world as I have, and I would have missed out on a lot. This is a great album to get whether you're a seasoned fan or someone who just heard a few tracks and want to know more about her. If you're really, really new, I also recommend her "Single Collection, Vol. 1 and Vol. Both CDs contain the singles from every album she's released so far and both make good compilation albums for new fans. Incidentally, if you do buy "Single Collection Vol. 2", make sure you get the 2 CD version, as the 2nd disc has my personal favorite song of hers, "Goodbye Happiness", which will literally blow you away! : All right, now that I've lauded her music collection all of which can be found right here on Amazon. com : , let me get down to the meat of this album. As other reviewers have noted, the songs are sequenced very exceptionally and the songs sound great next to each other. In other words, if you buy this album, you'll get 13 wonderfully unique and eclectic examples of how talented she is and how she can perform vocally. 99 you put down for it. : What a great CD! Track 1: Fight the Blues. I dare you not to say "We fight the blues" after hearing this song... Track 2: Heart Station. Great. Nice melody Track 3: Beautiful World. Favorite track. Possible Anime song. Chorus is beautiful. Track 4: Flavor of Life ballad Soulful. Not crazy about the wailing-like aspect, but good sound. Track 5: Stay Gold. Good ballad. Nice trumpet sound. Makes me think of Cowboy Bebop or something. Lyrics are fun. Melody will make you hum it for days. Track 7: Gentle Beast Interlude. Instrumental? Track 8: Celebrate. Will definitely make you "swing;" this is like a super cheesy dance music that you can swing to. Nostalgic. Listen to it. Track 9: Prisoner of Love. Cool. I wish I could sing the chorus. Track 10: Take 5. Favorite Track. Has some very anime-soundtrack feel to it. I somehow think of "outer space" anime. Kinda like lynminmei's theme in the Macross movie. Track 11: Boku Wa Kuma. Cute song. Sounds like a Sakamoto Maaya song. Track 12: Nijiiro Bus. Favorite song. Would love to sing the chorus of this one. I swear I had the words "Nijiiro Bus" for days ringing in my head. Track 13: Flavor of Life. I like the ballad version better. Here's how much I love this CD: I bought the full mp3 version since I didn't want to wait and then bought the CD in Amazon. Great pictures in the booklet. Worth it. Utada Hikaru is my favorite Japanese artist, and I haven't ever heard a song she has made that I didn't like. "Fight the Blues" is a great opener for the album, and I constantly find myself saying "We fight the blues" throughout the song. It sticks with me. "Heart Station" has a really great sound to it, and I find the lyrics to be quite beautiful. "Beautiful World" has got to be one of the songs from this album I listen to the most. A definite favorite of mine. She does everything right with this song, it's a very lovely song. "Flavor of Life - Ballad Version-" has a good sound to it, but it feels the same throughout. Nothing really stood out to give it that extra energy it could have used. "Stay Gold" is a very beautiful song to relax and listen to. "Gentle Beast Interlude" feels nice and unique. "Celebrate" has very catchy lyrics, and I find myself moving to the beat very often. "Prisoner of Love" is another favorite of mine. Everything works beautifully together in this song, the sad lyrics at end really stick with me. "Take5" happens to be a favorite as well. It has a great beat, and beautiful lyrics that work so nicely. "Boku Wa Kuma" is a very cute song. I can't help but feel happy listening to this one. "Niji-iro Basu" has a very happy, catchy beat. It took a few listens for me before I really liked it, and I enjoy it more every time I listen to it. "Flavor of Life" feels so much better to listen to compared to the ballad version. I'd honestly say that if you're a fan of Utada or J-Pop in general that it's well worth it to buy this album. by another of favortie artists regardless of anything else. She puts her heart and everything into each track and "Heart Station" is no different. It includes 13 tracks 2 of them different versions of Flavor of Life available on Itunes or here. Once again Utada brings us another look into her music life and one that folks should take the chance to check out. She's a big time over in Asia and other parts of the world. The same should be said for her in the United States but regardless of that happening or not. Her latest cd release is something that needs to be heard by any and all looking for a different peek into this vast music world. If you enjoy this one she has other excellent releases like "Ultra Blue", "Exodus 04", "First Love" and "Flavor of Life EP". She makes a great experience each time you listen to her music. Another excellent cd "Heart Station" is the end result. For me personally, this is Utada's greatest selection of music, making this her best CD. The disk starts out strong with songs like "Heart Station" and "Beautiful World" and continue on with songs that showcase her skill as a singer and an instrumentalist. My only real disappointment well, not really a disappointment was the song "Take 5 which has an awesome sound to it, however, she wanted to be artsy and ended it abruptly at the three and a half minute mark. I actually consider "Take 5" to be one of her best songs and I think it should have been literally five minutes long and had a proper ending. I highly recommend "HEART STATION" to anyone who likes a real musical artist, Utada is a beautiful singer and writes 99. A must have! I've been following Utada Hikaru's music career ever since I was in collage. And though i'm not nearly as obsessed with her as i initially was, i can still say i'm a fan of her. I've actually first heard of her through her second album, "Distance. But my favourite by far was her third album, "Deep River. " One song would flawlessly blend into each other as you weren't concerned with which was a single and which was just another song. It was a great concept album, and it was the first time she showed us her ability to layer arrangements beautifully. From "Sakura Drops" to "Travelling" to "Deep River", there seemed to be more instruments yet to be discovered with each addition listen. I wasn't very happy with her next album though, "Ultra Blue. " Sure, the singles were pretty good, but there were no tie-in with any of the fillers, yes fillers, full of cheap hooks and forgettable melodies. So when i found out her new album, "Heart Station", was recently released on Amazonmp3, i was skeptical at best. I had close to no expectation. Well colour me surprised. Perhaps it's due to my recent infatuation of electronica, but the tracks were very well paired with her upbeat music and electronica through her usual use of flamboyant arrangements. It's only been a few days since my first listen but i'm definitely thinking she has come full circle. Highly Recommended. Here's my personal rank of her CDs highest to lowest : Deep River, Heart Station, Distance, Ultra Blue, First Love This album is in Japanese, and if you can't appreciate songs that you don't understand because it is Japanese maybe you don't want to have it but music wise, it is really always good to have works of Utada Hikaru, always good music! She has been my favourite female singer and this album is no exception. No regrets in getting this one!
